1. Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using the My Pocket Ledger mobile application ("Service", "App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions ("Terms"). If you disagree with any part of these terms, you may not access the Service.

2. Description of Service

My Pocket Ledger is a personal financial management mobile application that helps users:

• Track income and expenses
• Create and monitor budgets
• Analyze spending patterns with charts and reports
• Export financial data in various formats
• Parse transactions using AI-powered natural language processing
• Track investment portfolio performance (tracking only - no trading or money movement)
• Sync data across devices with offline-first functionality

3. User Accounts and Registration

3.1 Account Creation

• You must create an account to use the Service
• You must provide accurate, current, and complete information
• You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
• You must be at least 13 years of age to create an account
• One account per person; you may not maintain multiple accounts

3.2 Account Security

• You are solely responsible for all activities under your account
• You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized access or security breaches
• We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms
• You may delete your account at any time through the app settings

3.3 Authentication Methods

We support the following authentication methods:

• Email and password
• Google Sign-In (OAuth 2.0)
• Apple Sign-In (OAuth 2.0)
• All authentication is processed securely through Firebase Authentication

4. Subscription Services and Pricing

4.2 Payment Processing

• All payments are processed securely through Apple App Store and Google Play Store
• Payments are charged in your local currency as determined by the app store
• Subscription fees are non-refundable except as required by law
• Prices may change with 30 days advance notice to subscribers

4.3 Subscription Management

• Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled before the next billing cycle
• You can cancel your subscription at any time through your device's app store settings
• Cancelled subscriptions remain active until the end of the current billing period
• You can manage your payment methods through your Apple ID or Google Play account settings

4.4 Free Trial and Promotions

• We may offer free trials or promotional pricing from time to time
• Promotional terms will be clearly communicated and take precedence over standard pricing
• Free trials automatically convert to paid subscriptions unless cancelled

5. AI-Powered Features

5.1 Transaction Processing

• Our AI service uses Google Gemini to parse natural language transaction entries
• AI processing is subject to usage limits based on your subscription tier
• AI suggestions are automated and may not always be accurate
• You are responsible for reviewing and confirming all AI-generated transaction data

5.3 AI Data Processing

• Transaction text sent to AI services is processed securely
• We do not store your transaction details on AI service providers
• AI processing occurs in real-time and data is not retained by the AI service
• You may opt out of AI features and enter transaction data manually

6. Data and Privacy

6.1 Data Collection

We collect and process the following types of data:

• Account Information: Email, display name, authentication data
• Financial Data: Transaction records, budget information, spending categories
• Usage Data: App interaction patterns, feature usage, performance metrics
• Device Data: Device identifiers, operating system, app version
• Payment Data: Subscription status, billing history (payment details handled by app stores)

6.2 Data Storage and Security

• Data is stored securely using Firebase Firestore with encryption at rest and in transit
• Local data is stored using encrypted MMKV storage with AsyncStorage fallback
• We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information
• Regular security audits and updates are performed

6.3 Data Ownership and Control

• You own your financial data and can export it at any time
• Data export is available in CSV format through the app
• You can request account deletion, which will permanently remove your data
• Data retention policies comply with applicable privacy laws

6.4 Offline Functionality

• The app functions offline with data synchronization when connectivity is restored
• Offline data is stored locally on your device using encrypted storage
• Sync conflicts are resolved automatically with preference given to most recent data

7. Acceptable Use Policy

7.1 Permitted Uses

• Personal financial management and tracking
• Creating budgets and analyzing spending patterns
• Exporting your own financial data
• Using AI features for transaction entry assistance

7.2 Prohibited Uses

You may not:

• Use the Service for any illegal or unauthorized purpose
• Share your account credentials with others
• Attempt to reverse engineer, hack, or compromise the Service
• Input false, misleading, or fraudulent transaction data
• Use automated systems to interact with the Service beyond intended functionality
• Violate any applicable laws or regulations
• Interfere with other users' access to the Service

7.3 Content Restrictions

• Transaction descriptions must not contain offensive, illegal, or harmful content
• Feedback and support messages must be respectful and constructive
• We reserve the right to remove any inappropriate content

8. Intellectual Property Rights

8.1 Our Rights

• My Pocket Ledger, its features, design, and functionality are owned by Nders Studio
• All trademarks, service marks, and logos are our property or licensed to us
• The app's source code, algorithms, and proprietary technology are protected by copyright
• You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works of our intellectual property

8.2 Your Rights

• You retain ownership of your financial data entered into the app
• You grant us a limited license to process and store your data to provide the Service
• You may export and use your own data as permitted by law
• No ownership or license is granted to our proprietary technology or intellectual property

8.3 Third-Party Rights

• Google, Firebase, Apple App Store, Google Play Store, RevenueCat, Vercel, and other integrated services retain their respective intellectual property rights
• Use of third-party services is subject to their respective terms and conditions
• We do not claim ownership of third-party technologies integrated into our Service

8.4 Third-Party Service Providers

• RevenueCat: Subscription management and analytics - subject to RevenueCat Terms of Service
• Vercel: Cloud infrastructure for secure API processing - subject to Vercel Terms of Service
• Firebase: Authentication and data storage - subject to Firebase Terms of Service
• Google AI: Transaction parsing services - subject to Google AI Terms of Service

9. Data Export and Portability

9.1 Export Capabilities

• You can export your financial data at any time in CSV format
• Export includes transactions, budgets, and associated metadata
• Historical data and analytics reports can be exported for your records
• Export functionality is available to both free and premium users

9.2 Data Format and Compatibility

• CSV exports are compatible with popular spreadsheet applications
• Data includes timestamps, amounts, categories, descriptions, and metadata
• Export format may be enhanced over time with advance notice

9.3 Export Limitations

• Large datasets may be split into multiple files for performance
• Real-time data export reflects data available at the time of request
• Deleted or archived data may not be included in exports unless specifically requested

10. Service Availability and Support

10.1 Service Uptime

• We strive to maintain 99.9% service availability
• Scheduled maintenance will be announced in advance when possible
• Emergency maintenance may occur without prior notice
• Offline functionality ensures core features remain available during service interruptions

10.2 Technical Support

• Support is provided through the in-app feedback system
• We respond to support requests within 48-72 hours during business days
• Premium users may receive priority support
• Support documentation and FAQ are available within the app

10.3 Updates and Maintenance

• The app receives regular updates for features, security, and bug fixes
• Critical security updates may be applied automatically
• Major feature updates will be communicated through the app or email
• Backward compatibility is maintained whenever possible

11. Limitation of Liability

11.1 Service Reliability

• The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind
• We do not guarantee uninterrupted, secure, or error-free service
• Financial calculations and AI suggestions are provided for informational purposes only
• You are responsible for verifying the accuracy of all financial data

11.3 Third-Party Services

• We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or reliability of third-party services
• Payment processing issues with Apple App Store or Google Play Store are subject to their terms and dispute resolution
• Google services (authentication, AI) are subject to their respective terms and limitations
• Network connectivity and device performance issues are outside our control

11.4 Data Loss Protection

• While we implement robust backup and recovery procedures, data loss can still occur
• Users are encouraged to regularly export their data as a backup measure
• We maintain automated backups but cannot guarantee complete data recovery in all scenarios
• Cloud storage and sync features provide additional data protection but are not guaranteed

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Nders Studio, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, judgments, awards, losses, costs, expenses, or fees arising out of or relating to:

• Your use of the Service
• Your violation of these Terms
• Your violation of any rights of another party
• Your violation of any applicable laws or regulations
• Any content or data you submit through the Service

13. Dispute Resolution

13.1 Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Nigeria, without regard to conflict of law principles.

13.2 Jurisdiction

Any disputes arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service shall be resolved in the courts of Lagos State, Nigeria.

13.3 Alternative Dispute Resolution

Before pursuing court action, parties agree to attempt resolution through:

1. Direct communication and good faith negotiation
2. Mediation through a mutually agreed upon mediator
3. Binding arbitration if mediation fails

13.4 Class Action Waiver

You agree that any dispute resolution proceedings will be conducted only on an individual basis and not in a class, consolidated, or representative action.

14. Termination

14.1 Termination by User

• You may terminate your account at any time through the app settings
• Subscription cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing period
• Account deletion permanently removes all associated data
• You may export your data before account termination

14.2 Termination by Us

We may terminate or suspend your account immediately, without prior notice, for:

• Violation of these Terms
• Fraudulent or suspicious activity
• Extended periods of inactivity (12+ months)
• Legal or regulatory requirements
• Discontinuation of the Service

14.3 Effect of Termination

Upon termination:

• Your access to the Service is immediately revoked
• Subscription fees for unused periods may not be refunded except as required by law
• Your data will be deleted according to our data retention policies
• These Terms remain in effect for resolved matters and continuing obligations

14.4 Data Retention After Termination

• Account data is retained for 30 days after termination to allow for account recovery
• After 30 days, all personal data is permanently deleted
• Aggregated, anonymized usage statistics may be retained for business purposes
• Legal obligations may require extended retention of certain data

15. Changes to Terms

15.1 Modification Rights

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be effective:

• Immediately upon posting for non-material changes
• 30 days after notice for material changes affecting your rights or obligations
• Immediately for changes required by law or regulation

15.2 Notice of Changes

• Significant changes will be announced through the app and email notification
• Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance
• If you disagree with changes, you may terminate your account before they take effect

15.3 Version Control

• Terms are version controlled with effective dates
• Previous versions are available upon request
• Changes are tracked and documented for transparency

16. Miscellaneous

16.1 Entire Agreement

These Terms constitute the entire agreement between you and Nders Studio regarding the Service and supersede all prior agreements and understandings.

16.2 Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.

16.3 Waiver

Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms will not be deemed a waiver of such right or provision.

16.4 Assignment

• You may not assign or transfer your rights under these Terms without our consent
• We may assign our rights and obligations under these Terms without restriction
• Assignment includes transfers due to merger, acquisition, or sale of assets

16.5 Force Majeure

We are not liable for any failure or delay in performance due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including natural disasters, government actions, or technical failures.

16.6 Language

These Terms are written in English. Any translations are provided for convenience only, and the English version governs in case of conflict.
